We are so excited for today's #mplocal (we really need to stop saying that, but we just can't help it). Today's feature is our digital marketing soul sisters. They are two bestie boss babes (just like us!), who took their passion for marketing and created a growing business out of it.
They love community and you can see at least one of them at all the local #kwawesome events! They have the cutest brand and we can't wait for you to check them out and give them some love.
Without further ado, meet Neha and Trish from Rebel and Rhye.
Name: Neha Choudhary and Trish Manrique
Your title:
Neha - co-founder, fur mom and goal digger Trish - co-founder, dog mom and go-getter
Your elevator pitch:
Rebel and Rhye is a multidisciplinary marketing agency. Our focus is to help companies execute their marketing initiatives to have a positive growth driven impact. We like to consider ourselves a true partner to our clients—their external internal marketing team. We want them to know that we’re there for every step and sip of wine to help them achieve their goals, leading to their success and business targets
One word to describe yourself:
Neha - Visionary
Trish - Thinker
Why did you choose that word?
Neha - I’m always looking ahead. I’m driven and inspired by what the future might hold. I’m determined to accomplish those goals and move through transitions and transform.
Trish - I think A LOT—about everything past, present and future. I get lost in my own thoughts often, but it’s because when I think, I plan strategically about every next step or how I could’ve done something more efficiently or effectively.
Why did you start the business that you did and what was the inspiration or reasoning of how it came it life?
We always talked about doing something together and we weren’t sure what that was. We both had ongoing individual projects that we would discuss over a glass of wine or reached out at times to get each other's input. The Rebel and Rhye story started organically from a girl's night in. We thought why not collaborate and combine our expertise together to offer clients a multi-disciplinary marketing approach to their business.
First thought when you officially became your own boss:
We still keep our 9-5 grinds, but we love the opportunity of owning our business and seeing it grow.
When you’re not hustling, what do you do in your free time?
We’re hanging out together, spending time with our friends, family and our fur babies. We always love to do new things. You can find us at Big Bliss, Grand River Rocks, or at one of our favourite local foodie spots, Laloan Lobby Bar or the Walper Hotel.
Describe a day in your life:
Neha - Wake up, morning fur cuddles, 9-5 grind, barre class, dinner experiments, tiny house youtube videos. Weekends = play time!
Trish - Wake up, 9-5 grind, workout, R&R work, and Netflix and cuddles with my fur baby. Weekends are more fun and less work, of course!
What is your biggest accomplishment?
Neha - Will keep you posted!
Trish - I’ll let you know when it happens!
What are your top 3 bucket list items?
Neha
1. Adopting another furbaby
2. Starting another business with Trish (coming soon!) 3. Travelling across a new continent
Trish
1. Live in a different country for an extended period of time
2. Start another business with Neha (coming soon!) 3. Go completely zero-waste (starting small first)
What or who inspires you to keep doing what you’re doing?
Neha - Connecting with amazing people, seeing their and our dreams and goals come to fruition and working with one of my best babes everyday.
Trish - Knowing that with hard work comes success. It doesn’t happen easily, but it’s all part of the journey.
What animal do you relate with and why?
Neha - Red Panda as they are known for their spirit, kind heartedness and wisdom
Trish - Owl as they are known for their adaptability, intuition and keen skills in observation
What is your daily mantra?
Neha - Choose to challenge yourself, even if it terrifies you, even if you fail, because this leads to a stronger you
Trish - To make it happen, fight for it. If you don’t fight for it, then you don’t want it badly enough.
What are some tips and tricks you use to stay motivated?
Neha - I like to create goals and break them down into smaller action pieces setting targets and rewards for getting it done. Aka….glass of wine!
Trish - Write your goals down. I get satisfaction from seeing my list - crossed off or not. If something’s not crossed off, it gives me time to reflect, prioritize my goals, and possibly re-adjust my initial goals.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learnt along the way?
Neha - To use your voice when you need help or do not know the answers, there are people there to help you!
Trish - Getting knocked two steps back isn’t a bad thing. Re-taking those two steps forward is probably the most rewarding part of your journey. It tests your resiliency and the world will reward your strength.
What’s next for you?
Neha - On the work front - continuing to update my professional skills. Personally - visiting somewhere on my bucket list!
Trish - Keep learning and growing my skills.
