It’s so important to support a local business – we covered all the reasons why on our blog: why you should support local businesses. There are tons of different ways that your support matters to a business owner. Whether it’s small or large, they value your support more than you know.
Here are 5 ways you can support local businesses:
Buy their goods
…and pay full price! When you are buying local, you are buying from someone who put their blood, sweat and tears into that product. They’ve taken the time to create and offer a product that will be of value to you and there’s something so unique about that. When you’re buying from local businesses – don’t look for a sale, support them at full price when you can.
Like, share and comment
Support their social media. Running a business is no joke – you seriously wear all the hats. When you’re not physically making/bringing in the product, you’re managing the books, cleaning the space, counting inventory and so much more. Marketing is so important for success, so take the time to like their posts, share with friends and comment on their content! You will be helping them with their organic growth and getting others to their online space.
Share their products
Just like the point above – but in real life! If you’ve bought a product from a local business owner, take the time to share it with your friends and family. Show them what it is and the benefits of purchasing and supporting local. Word of mouth is a great way to help a business grow!
Sign up for their emails
We know sometimes it can be annoying to receive a lot of emails – especially those that continue to spam us even after we unsubscribe. When a local business owner sends you an email, it’s usually filled with content that will be of value to you. Whether it’s an upcoming event, product launches or some news – the information they send you is designed to benefit you.
Go to their events
There is nothing more stressful than planning an event and stressing over who will show up. If you get invited to an event by a local business and you’re free – grab a friend and attend! They will be super appreciative, you’re supporting their cause and you’ll usually walk away with a swag bag filled with other local goodies.
We are always looking for ways to support local businesses and think it’s so important for the culture and growth of our community.
